Just One Dried-Up, Wrinkly, Old Infidel Trying To Recapture Her Youth

I'm no spring chicken. In fact, with each year that passes, I'm transforming into a tough old bird, with wiry chin hairs in place of feathers. And yet, some of my recent behavior would suggest a regression back into some sort of second childhood.

Observe: This is what I'm listening to right now.

Super Mal Featuring Luciana-Bigger Than Big

I bought these flamingo beauties half-price at the mall on Friday. What??? Infidels cannot survive with flip-flops alone. Winter is coming, after all.

I cooked a nice Sunday dinner yesterday, but found myself too engrossed in a certain book about vampires and werewolves to sit down at the table. So I devoured a bag of these instead. Yeah, handling roast beef with all the fixins would have proved difficult to do while reading.
I'm so very close to plastering big, glossy posters of this Edward Cullen wannabe all over my bedroom walls. I wonder what Papi would say? Reliving childhood has some definite drawbacks. I feel a massive zit outbreak coming on, and I can't seem to stop saying, like, all the time. Like, you know what I mean? Like, whatever!

I've been known to skip eating to read a book all day. And I like my 80's music! Unfortunately, I can always find a nice zit on my face. That I can do without.

So am I going to have to breakdown and read the vampire books??? I am draggin' my feet.

Like, fer sure.

Eating is, like, so overrated. Reading about vampires and werewolves is much better.

OH MY HECK COULD YOU DIE!!!!

I'm #4! I've never been here before #18. And "Go Insane" is playing! I've been thinking about this song for, like, a week.

Love it, love it, love it. Next time we get together, you can make us some pot roast.

No way!! This is why we're like so BFFs Elastica! This is my opening jogging track "Bodyrox featuring Luciana: Yeah Yeah". We are so kewl.

My idea of Edward is a -few years- older version ;)
I'm OBSESSED with him.

That Edward Cullen wannabe (sigh!) is like, TONS yummier than roast beef! Like, you know what I mean?

Oh sad.
And I end my walks with "The Kill". Makes me think of Edward.
And Dead! makes me think of Bella. An Adiosed Bella.

Good- you like Edward. I don't have to fight you for Jacob. We can still be friends...

You're not old or old looking. And I'm positive I have more zits than you. Not fair!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

All right take a deep breath. A teenager has invaded your body. I'm afraid the only way of getting rid of her is to listen to Andy Williams, plaster posters of Sean Connery all over and read Danielle Steel while knitting dish cloths.

As for that Edward guy, I've never heard of him but you can send that poster over to me.

This is so you can almost be cool enough that your kids will acknowledge it, but not quite...

But I say let the music never stop.

I don't know who Edward is, either.

Night Fever is playing....I'm loving it so much.
I have a new zit farm on my face too, it ain't right.

I guess I would have to read the entire book to know who Jacob is, huh?

Busy Bee Lauren said...

Aw gee...I looked at him again :)

Oh, I forgot to mention before, those shoes are tiiiiiight! And not in an uncomfortable squooshy way...in an awesome way. I want some so bad!

I'm not trying to be rude.....I'm really not. It's just that blogging has taken a back seat as I slog through the rest of Eclipse. Only 100 pages to go!!!! I have to work non-stop until Thursday, so I'm trying to finish as fast as possible. I'll die if I don't know what happenes.......DIE, I tell you!

elizabeth and some of the others- Edward Cullen is the vampire and Jacob Black is a werewolf in Stephenie Meyer's Twilight series. Some of us bloggers have chosen up sides just like the main character, Bella, is forced to decide between the two. Carrie, Tori, and Aubrey are Jacob devotees, while the rest of us swoon over the very delicious and golden-eyed Edward. My daughters are all Team Cullen, too!

Okay, I'm seriously behind on checking blogs. Forgive me? I'll make it up to everyone. I pinky promise!

elasticwaistbandlady said...

Jean knee- I'm so NOT avoiding you!!!! I'm actually looking for gotta pee kittys female companion cat I saw in a magazine last week. She's more refined with her little feline legs crossed.

Are we still best stalker friends?

elasticwaistbandlady said...

millie- I LOVE 'Go Insane.' Did you get my e-mail featuring the Infidel Music Cheese Update? Maybe I should make it into an e-newsletter.

Muskrat Love or Puppy Love? I can't decide.

Syar said...

First, those vans are beyond cool. I am jealous. You rock those flamingos. Even if I'm seeing wrong and those aren't pink birds, you still rock those flamingos!

And secondly, I HEART EDWARD. He is like, so hot and vampire-y. I love Twilight. I want the third book, now. Like, totally.

Lia said...

Read. Sleep. Eat. In priority order.

That sounds like a great book and a very appropriate dinner. I'm adding it to my reading list.

That video confuses and enrages me.

Is it a girl's vampire book with Fabio on the cover?

If so, I'm up for it!

jams o donnell said...

Just don't say "that's so groady" or "gag me with a spoon" a la valley girl!

aubrey said...

mmm, i'm all for team black but that pic is still pretty hot. or as you say in your youthful way, "hawt." so, is that why lauren commented and said, "like?" and..i think those shoes are rockin. me, tori and carrie, eh? i'm preeetty sure i could beat up tori, i'm not so sure about carrie. i'm gonna have to think about this one. i must have jacob black all to myself.

Melissa said...

First of all... I like the Vans! Pink flamingos are in! ;)
And I guess I'm gonna have to break down and read these Twilight books. I think I'm the only person on the planet who hasn't...

aubrey said...

and i love modest mouse. i am delaying starting eclipse because i am just like you. i neglect eating, sleeping and my house. but...i'm growing weaker and must. read. it.

Amanda said...

Excuuuuuseeee me! Who are you calling old? We are the same age and I am NOT old! :D Like gag me with a spoon!

I am with NCS, I picture Edward as being older too. I had to take the I heart Edward sign off my blog when I realized that my bishop was reading my blog. I didn't want him to get the wrong idea or anything. I gave his wife my copy of Twilight, we'll see what happens.

elasticwaistbandlady said...

amanda- Know what my bishop told me? He told me that it was improper to post a patriarchal blessing on a blog. AS IF I needed to be told that!!!!

aubrey- The biggest problem is that I just finished Eclipse yesterday and now I have to wait until next summer to find out what happens next. It may be better to wait for a whole series to be out so there's a continuation without breaks. I was all Camp Cullen......until I read Eclipse. I really like Jacob now, too.

Melissa- They're aimed for middle school age, so it's a pretty easy read and it pulls you in right away.

I think, this man, could play as Edward very well !! but the only one probleme is that Stephenie Meyer would Robert Pattinson play ...
And I don't want to ! He's not like I was imagine Edward. Can you tell me what's the name of this man please?
thanks you.

elasticwaistbandlady said...

My daughters and I veto Robert Pattinson. Sooooo, NOT Edward-worthy with those weird furry eyebrows. :(

I wanted Frenchy Gaspard Ulliel, but alas, here we are.

I took the Edward image on my blog from another blogger because I liked it so much. I don't know who the Edward model is, though. Sorry.

Anonymous said...

ok thanks very much. but, i think, you don't mind which blog ...
i'll try to find !
I'm a french teenager, but i don't like so much Gaspard Ulliel, and I think, if the actor who should play as Edward does not agree me, i won't see the film.

Anonymous said...

i think gaspard ulliel should play edward...not robert patterson...he looks nothing like edward should!! i also think the guy in the picture should play edward...who is he?

Anonymous said...

His name is Tom Sturridge. Mega babe if you ask me. Definately Edward worthy !

Anonymous said...

omg!! that edward wannabe is sooooooooooooo much more edwardy than robert!!! he should have been edward.
