When Bad Things Happen To Good, Nice Somewhat Decent Infidels

Pardon my bloggy absence the past few days, things have gone awry in the Infidel household......horribly awry. First, our refrigerator blew out the compressor.....again. My excrcuciatingly painful toothache came back to visit......again. And worst of all, I can't get this freakin song out of my mind!!!

"Elvira, my heart's on fire, Elvira. Giddy Up Oom Poppa Omm Poppa Mow Mow. Giddy Up Oom Poppa Omm Poppa Mow Mow. Heigh-ho Silver, away!"

Elvira- The Oak Ridge Boys (2:11)

Pray for us!

Had a bad day? A bad week? A bad winter solstice? A bad ham sandwich? Vent here! Let's commiserate together, shall we?

First!

I've got a hangnail, and I'm sick of 30 degree temperatures.

I feel better already. Thanks!

Aww, boo!
Sorry Elastic :(
On the plus side your hair looks way batter than any of those dudes.

I had lucnh with some friends and a few of them are going through really tough days. I felt so bad for them, it made me really sad and now I'm thinking I shouldn't complain about anything.
So I won't :)

Why would you want Elvira out of your head? That song is only the bomb diggiti-est. I love the Giddy Up...Oom Poppa Omm Poppa Mow Mow. It makes me happy.

My kids drove me to drink today.. I got a full bodied pepsi. No diet or caffiene free for me!

Yeah, that's right,you heard me.

What's up with people and their fridges going hay-wire? First Jeanknee and now you. I'm afraid! These things come in threes:0

I have a tooth ache too! Hurts like a bugger. (however a bugger feels when it hurts). And finally, I am drinking a flat Diet Pepsi, instead of my usual Diet Coke with Lime. How lame is that to go to bed on? I don't know if I will ever sleep! Anyway! I hope things improve with the Infidels!
(and I'm going to pray I don't wake up singing "Hi ho silver away!":)

So so sorry!! I'll pray. And I'm a lover of the Oakridge Boys. I don't own their music, but it reminds me of my childhood.

I brought about my own woes this week. :( Hope yours get better quick.

You guys are just good people. Thanks for being there to cheer me up even when I'm a flaky blog friend. :)

Let's throw another whine log into the fire!
Today marked the day that our neighborhood pool opens for the season. The mini-Infidels were so excited. I took them to Target to use their gift cards from Christmas so they could all get a new bathing suit. So, guess what happened? The temps dropped from 85 degrees to 55 degrees yesterday and a big storm blew through. Yeah.

The refrigerator deal is bad because I had to use credit to buy a new one. If anyone listens to Dave Ramsey, putting stuff on credit when you're trying to get out of debt is bad, bad, very bad. What choice did I have? If I waited for a repairman we'd have that expense plus the cost of all the lost food. In this way at the very least we saved most of our groceries.

I'm off to work now. I'm trying to ignore the horrible pain shooting through my jaw.

Papi has THREE interviews next week and he'll finish his semester at University Of Houston in six weeks. I'm praying he'll land one of those jobs and get some dental insurance before we all end up with hillbilly teeth.

I hope your tooth ache goes away!

I hate appliances that breake. If you counted it out, the lost food would add up to at least that much. We're still eating our food, no one's gotten sick yet--the milk still smelled okay--isn't that a good sign.

look how I spelled break, at first I had brake. whatever

you saw castaway, right? Take care of yer tooth like tom did. I have some extra ice skates around

Is that what they are singing, Elvira? I thought they were saying "Hell fire up!"

oh yikes, the fridge goes, the tooth aches AND that horrible song is stuck in your head? Whew, you need some chocolate!

My mom has a cassette tape of little me singing that song when I was like 3 or 4. She used to break it out whenever my boyfriends would come over for a visit. That song was used to try to accomplish my demise. I feel for ya.
What is it with people having bad days? Have you been to visit Bee? Her bad day drove her to throwing F-bombs.
I hope your toothache and your fridge feel better soon!

Oh, NOOO! It just plain stinks when appliances die! :(

I'm so sorry about your horrible toothache! :(

I got an abscessed tooth the day before going to girl's camp as a leader one year. I told myself I was too busy to see a dentist and that it would probably feel better the next day. Yeah, right. It got worse every day and Tylenol didn't touch the pain. It was five days of torture like I'd never even imagined...in a cabin filled with screaming girls! I think childbirth was a lot easier to go through than that! :0

I hate that song with a purple passion! (I don't really know what that means, but my momma always used to say it!)

Thanks for sharing it. ;)

My pops used to love this song when I was growing up.
He'd play it all the time and listening to it now takes me back to hot days in Cali and praying the song ends before my friends come over.

Poor teeth and fridge.

Those Elvira people are just nutty.

I second NCS' comment.

ve,

I thought the words were "hell, fire up" too. For years I went around singing it that way. Now I can't get the theme song for "Hawaii 5-0" out of my mind.

Elasticwaistbandlady, hope you get dental insurance too. But take care of your teeth no matter what the cost. Dentures suck, literally.

My dad used to play that song on the old vinyl years ago. I love it! Except when I used to sing it I would mix up the words..."Lips that look like heaven...eyes like cherry wine". I don't think any guys would like a girl with red eyes. Although...who knows?
